The whole region of Bicol is blessed with natural attractions that offer breathtaking views from sea to summit. At the top of the list would be the picturesque and feisty Mayon Volcano, but the province offers a whole range of destinations that look out to different types of landscapes and seascapes. Here are six ways to enjoy the region’s different viewpoints.

Mayon 360 bike trail and scenic route.  The Mayon Volcano hardly needs an introduction – the world-famous active volcano’s perfect conical shape is a breathtaking sight to behold whether from any angle. The Mayon 360 bike trail lets adventure-seekers see a different side of the volcano through a scenic bike trail that offers 360-degree views of volcano and Tabaco, Albay’s lush surroundings.

Misibis Bay Resort. This private resort in Bacacay, Albay, has luxurious amenities, dining options, and outdoor activities that let guests experience the beautiful Bacacay surroundings via different adventures. Drive an ATV to the top of Cagraray Eco Park or take on different watersports activities on the beach such as windsurfing, Hobie Cat sailing, kayaking, stand-up paddle, jet ski, and wakeboarding.

Quitinday Hills and Nature Park. Also known as Pili Nut Hills, Quitinday Hills and Nature Park in Camalig, Albay is reminiscent of Bohol’s Chocolate Hills – but with a unique charm that is all its own, magnified by a vista of the Mayon Volcano beyond the hilly green expanse that can be reached via trekking.

Mahabang Buhangin Beach. While Camarines Norte’s Calaguas Islands are primarily known for its pristine beaches and crystal-clear waters – especially that of Mahabang Buhangin Beach in Tinaga Island, the island has low-lying hills that offer great viewpoints of the entire beach and the rest of the island via a short, relatively easy trek.

Hiyop Highlands. Located in Pandan, East Catanduanes, the Hiyop Highlands offers a complete range of day-to-night, sea and summit views. It is known for its unparalleled sunrise and sunset views during the day, and a clear view of the night skies when the weather permits cloudless stargazing and astrophotography sessions.

The Donsol-Pilar-Castilla-Sorsogon (DonPiCaSo) River experience. The DonPiCaSo tourism circuit lets participants explore the different river-based activities and attractions in Sorsogon, which includes River Cruising/Firefly Watching in Ogod River (Donsol), Malbog River and Sea Sailing (Pilar), Pili-Dulangan River (Castilla) and Buhatan River Cruise (Sorsogon City).
